MISSING IN ACTION: Raiders
prop David Shillington will certainly want to lift his team after an
underwhelming individual performance for Queensland while Blake Ferguson
will be upbeat after tasting victory in his first outing in a sky blue
jumper.
The pair returns to camp along with Josh Papali’i who trained with the Maroons.
It’s hard to tell whether Peter Wallace’s stint at hooker was a success
after the Broncos were constantly back-pedalling at a rate of knots
against the Warriors. But his move back into the halves alongside Scott
Prince this week could be an indication of Anthony Griffin’s thoughts on
the matter.
Andrew McCullough comes into the side wearing the No 9 while Ben Hunt
shifts to an extended seven-man bench. Sam Thaiday, Corey Parker and
Matt Gillett are set to back-up from Origin while Justin Hodges is yet
to be confirmed.
FORM: Canberra
have had 12 days to freshen up thanks to the bye. A pair of
disappointing losses – to Cronulla and Manly – that preceded the break
would have provided plenty of material for analysis and reflection
during their preparations for this one.
Having ended the Storm’s unbeaten run with a 24-20 win at AAMI Park, the
Green Machine then proceeded to thrash the Knights but hit a rough
patch over two weeks on the road.
Meanwhile, the Broncos have all the motivation in the world to get up
for this one after suffering the club’s worst ever defeat at home thanks
to the Warriors’ 10-try haul.
Just once have Brisbane achieved victory in their last five outings – a
32-6 belting of the Titans in round 10.Still they sit just two points
outside the top eight with teams from 7-10 all on 12 points.
