MISSING IN ACTION: Penrith will go in with the same 17 that accounted for the Dragons a fortnight ago. The Tigers are likely to be without skipper Robbie Farah, who has a suspected fractured cheekbone from Origin I. The culprit? P Gallen’s hip. Late bloomer, 27-year-old Jarred Farlow, may be called into the Tigers squad as the seventh debutant used this year.
FORM: Just when we lowering the body into the grave and preparing the eulogies, Penrith have sprung back to life with three wins in a row. Suddenly everything is rosy in the golden west (at least until Soward arrives in a few months). They are in the top eight and playing some terrific football.
The Tigers broke a seven-match losing streak in disposing of the Cowboys last start but still; remain anchored to the bottom of the table. The Panthers lead the overall head-to-head stats (14-10) but have lost their last six games straight against the Tigers.
The Tigers showed some encouraging signs in the win over North Queensland a fortnight ago but it was hardly vintage stuff. They look vulnerable without the ball and unsure with it. If Farah is ruled out, it will be a massive loss for the already under-manned joint venture club. Penrith have been good value for the past month and, at home, should get the choccies.
