MISSING IN ACTION:
Melbourne boss Craig Bellamy has stuck with the same side that got the job done against the Roosters last time out. But with Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Billy Slater and Ryan Hoffman needing to get through Origin before confirming their spots, Brett Finch, Tim Glasby and Kenneath Bromwich have been named on an extended bench as cover.
Cronulla have a few big returns, with Luke Lewis and Michael Gordon back in the starting side after missing their most recent clash against South Sydney. But skipper Paul Gallen will miss the match due to suspension after he was charged for striking in Wednesday night’s Origin win. Impressive youngster Tyrone Peachey and hard-hitting forward Sam Tagataese are on an extended bench and one of them will come into the side for Gallen.
FORM:
Both clubs enjoyed a week off with the bye last weekend meaning they’ll come into this clash fresh and ready to fire. While the Storm remain in second spot, they have only won one of their last four matches.
The Sharks are the hottest side in the NRL at the moment, surging into the top eight on the back of four straight wins. What will give them most confidence is that they have done it without skipper Gallen, while Lewis has missed the last two victories.

The Sharks will still be hurting from their last trip to AAMI Park when they threw away a victory in the last two minutes. The Sharks were leading 18-10 in the 78th minute before tries to Ryan Hoffman and Will Chambers stole victory for the home side. Both sides are obviously a lot different now and with Cronulla’s current form you would expect it to be just as tight. Much could depend on how each sides Origin contingent pull up but it’s always hard to go past Melbourne on their home turf.
